2018 Town Hall Meetings

The Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA) invites you to join one of our Town Hall meetings this winter.

Each Town Hall will include updates on CPMA activities and issues followed by a panel presentation. The panel will feature retailers, CPMA members and industry specialists and will focus on supply chain issues.

  • Leamington – Tuesday, January 30th (3:30pm–5:00pm) – OGVG Office, 32 Seneca Road, Leamington, ON
     
  • Salinas, California – Tuesday, February 20th (3:30pm–5:00pm) – Holiday Inn Express & Suites Salinas, 195 Kern St, Salinas, CA
     
  • Calgary – Thursday, February 22nd (3:30pm–5:00pm) – Delta Calgary South, 135 Southland Drive SE, Calgary, AB

The Town Halls will also be followed by a networking wine and cheese reception from 5:00pm-6:30pm.

  1. How will the new Safe Food for Canadians Regulations, and other domestic or international regulations and requirements impact your business?
     
  2. What effect will the changes in food distribution and changing consumer behaviours have on the produce sector? (For example, online retail merging with traditional retailing, consumer focus on local, demand for “meals in a box”, etc.?)
     
  3. How is innovation in the industry (e.g. robotics, data advancements, etc.) impacting your business?
     
  4. What is the impact of globalization on your part of the supply chain?
     
  5. What are your short-term and long-term predictions for the produce industry? (How do you anticipate industry reacting to these changes?)
