IFPS

The International Federation for Produce Standards (IFPS) is a coalition of fruit and vegetable associations from around the globe that originally joined forces to introduce a global standard for the use of Price Look-Up (PLU) codes for produce. In the Spring of 2004, the IFPS agreed to explore the potential expansion of the IFPS as a forum to address all issues which impact on the produce sector and require global harmonization, such as traceability and equivalency of GAP requirements. The IFPS is the first produce organization addressing standardization for the produce industry at a global level with equal representation from all members and autonomous from any one existing organization. The IFPS is supported by a Technical Committee which CPMA chairs.
