Within the fresh produce sector, the scope of issues associated with food safety is extremely broad. Issues concerning market access, industry capacity, consumer demand, media attention and the increasing number of guidelines, standards and programs are all considered. CPMA is focused on providing factual information to our members and communicating with industry, government and consumers to develop collaborative relationships while investigating areas of standardization and equivalency to decrease redundancy and increase effectiveness and accountability in food safety.
CPMA’s commitment to food safety includes initiatives focusing upon the integration of food safety guidelines and systems along the supply chain, overview on system development, as well as consumer education.
