Celebrate the International Year of Fruits and Vegetables 2021
Join CPMA in marking 2021 as the International Year of Fruits and Vegetables (IYFV2021). Launched on December 15, 2020, by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the IYFV2021 campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of fruits and vegetables in human nutrition, food security and health.
From June to November 2021, CPMA will celebrate the diversity of fruits and vegetables, their importance to human health, and the people who produce them through its educational programs including Half Your Plate, Produce Talks Podcasts, and webinars.
Each month, CPMA will highlight educational content that features one of the following themes proposed by FAO.
||Fruits and vegetables taste great and are good for your health
||Benefits of diversified and healthy diets
||Respect for food from farm to table
||Reducing food loss and waste
||Fostering sustainability in food production
||Growing fruits and vegetables benefit the entire community
How to participate
CPMA members are invited to get involved and join the IYFV campaign by sharing stories that illustrate the above themes in form of:
- Blog posts.
- Social media posts using the #IYFV2021 hashtag.
Remember to tag @CPMA-ACDFL for us to be able to find and share your content on our platforms. On October 15, 2021, CPMA will run a social media campaign on fruits and vegetables grown on different continents. Stay tuned as we will share more details in the coming weeks.
